Born in Piracicaba, Brazil, Renato started his music studies at the age of six, with his mother. Renato holds a Master's degree in Music from the Berlin University of Arts, under the guidance of Hartmut Rohde.
At the age of 20, he received a scholarship to study at the Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. He held concerts with the orchestra conducted by Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, Seiji Ozawa, Günter Wand, Zubin Mehta, Bernard Haitink, Simon Rattle, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, among others, in several European cities. With this orchestra, he made several CD and DVD recordings.
During his stay in Berlin, he joined the “Ensemble Oriol Berlin”, performing concerts in Germany, Mexico, Portugal, with renowned international soloists. He also performed as a guest musician at the Gulbenkian Orchestra (Lisbon / Portugal).
He coordinated the 2009, 2010 and 2011 editions of the Campos do Jordão International Winter Festival, Brazil.
Renato acted as first viola of important Brazilian orchestras, Osesp, Municipal Symphonic Orchestra of São Paulo, OSB. He has an intense activity as a chamber musician and soloist.
His viola is a Stephan von Baehr, Paris (1999).
