Hans-Christian Schweiker studied Violoncello with Boris Pergamenschikow and chamber music with the Amadeus Quartet at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (Cologne School of Music and Dance).

The "International Classical Music Award 2015" nominated musician launched his extensive international career at the beginning of his studies, leading him to the 1st Prize of the International Chamber Music Competition in Citta di Castello (Italy), and concerts throughout Europe, the USA , South Africa and Japan as a soloist and chamber music partner of the Amadeus Quartet, Tibor Varga, Bruno Giuranna, Boris Pergamenschikow, Martin Spangenberg, Veronika Hagen, Hariolf Schlichtig, James Creitz, Eszter Haffner, Othmar Müller, Judith Ingolfsson, Andres Mustonen and many others.
Performances in such musical centers as Milan, Vienna, Brussels, London, Bordeaux, Hamburg (Musikhalle), Cologne (Philharmonie), Stuttgart (Liederhalle), Düsseldorf (Tonhalle) and at music festivals such as the Schwetzinger Festspiele, Bachwoche Ansbach, Bachtage Potsdam and others are milestones in his artistic career.

He performs together with the pianist Hyun-Jung Kim-Schweiker as the DUO CON AURA, which they often expand into a trio with the clarinetist Martin Spangenberg.

Since its foundation in 2000 he is the cellist of the TRIO TESTORE, with Sebastian Hamann and Hyun-Jung Kim-Schweiker, which enjoys an extensive concert career throughout Europe.

In 2001 his new Urtext edition of the Suites for Violoncello Solo by J.S. Bach was released by Ries & Erler publishing in Berlin. Since then Hans-Christian Schweiker has been renowned for his celebrated Bach interpretations. The Badischen Neuesten Nachrichten (Baden Latest News) writes about his Bach:
„...an art that can only be achieved by the greats in the field. And Hans-Christian Schweiker is certainly one of them. It simply must be heard...“

In 2011 he founded the MAI KLASSIK KAMMERMUSIKFESTIVAL ("May Classic" Chamber Music Festival), and has been its artistic director since the beginning.

A highly successful pedagogue, the longtime teaching assistant of Boris Pergamenschikow and guest lecturer at international masterclasses is Professor of Violoncello at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln (Cologne School of Music and Dance). His students, several of whom are already professors themselves, have won prizes in every major international cello competition (including ARD competition, Casals competition, Feuermann competition, Tchaikovsky competition, Rostropowitsch compeition...) and are principal cellists of the biggest orchestras in Europe.

Hans-Christian Schweiker has recorded CDs for the labels TGF Records, Orplid Records and Audite, which have received excellent reviews from international press such as Gramophone (England), Scherzo's CD of the month (Spain), Crescendo's "Best complete work cycle" (Belgium), Fono Forum (Germany), Pizzicato (Luxemburg), Fanfare (USA), Record Review (England) and many others.

Radio and television recordings for every European broadcaster document his artistic career.
