Gleb Dontsov was born in Omsk,in Russia.He graduated Tchaikovsky Moscow State College in 1992 under Professor Sergey Fatkulin. In 1997 he graduated Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory under Professor Eduard Grach. In 2001 he graduate Postgraduate studies of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. Gleb Dontsov is laureate of several youth competitions in Russia. He performed in numerous famous concert halls in Moscow: Philharmonic Hall, Big and small halls of Tchaikovsky State Conservatory, Rachmaninov Hall and others. He was a concertmaster and soloist violinist in the Symphony Orchestra of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory. Also, he performed as a soloist and a member of Chamber Orchestra "Moskovia" under conductor and music director Eduard Grach.
From 1998 untill 2005 Gleb Dontsov became a concertmaster of Shenzhen Symphony orchestra.He perform with many famous conductors such Zhang Guoyoung, Maurice Peress, Lior Shambadal, Kirill Petrenko and others. Also he performed as a chamber musician with Hong-Kong well-known pianist Mary Meiloc Wu.Since 2006 he was a guest-concertmaster of Macau Symphony orchestra and Hong Kong City Chamber orchestra. From 2009 he became a Professor of Shenzhen Art School. Many of his students became a laureates of national and international competitions. At the same time Gleb
became a co-founder of Music Studio "Fine Strings" in Shenzhen Concert hall.
In 2014 his student Zhang Wei got a prize in 8th Tchaikovsky Youth International Competition.Another his student-Zhao Wan Yu got a second prize in 7th Hong Kong International competition in 2017. At the 13th Zhongsin International music competition in Singapore(2019) his three students Cui Ge Qi, Cheung Yu Suen and Deng Zheng Ping became laureates.In 2020 they got prizes in International Youth online music competition “Nouvelles Etoiles”. Every year Gleb invites to Shenzhen for master-classes famous professors such as Tatiana Berkul, Sergey Fatkulin, Zakhar Bron, Pavel Vernikov,Svetlana Makarova, Haik Kazazyan, Roman Simovic, Igor Yuzefovich, Shlomo Mintz, Salvatore Accardo. From 2002 till this days Gleb Dontsov performs in violin duo with violinist Marianna Terteryan.
