From early on in her career Christine Hoock captivated her audiences as a soloist, orchestra and chamber musician.

She has won international prizes and founded the Frankfurt Double Bass Quartet during her studies in Frankfurt and Geneva with Günter Klaus and Franco Petracchi .

A versatile virtuoso, Christine can be heard in the most varied constellations in classical music, world music, jazz and electronic compositions. This is also reflected in her highly varied discography. Her artistic partners include Benjamin Schmid, Alessandro Taverna, Quadro Nuevo and DJ Umberto Echo.

The artist is high demanded internationally both as a soloist and chamber music partner. She appears regularly at the Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival, at the Aurora Chamber Music Festival, Lucerne Festival, the San Sebastián Festival, at the Musik Triennale Köln, the Oficina de Música de Curitiba, at the Berlin Festival and the Salzburg Festival.

Christine is Professor of Double Bass at the Mozarteum University Salzburg following her long-time engagement in the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne as solo double bassist, where she played under conductors such as Semyon Bychkov, Gary Bertini, Pinchas Zukerman, André Previn, Rudolf Barschai and ohters.

Alongside her active concert activities, she gives master classes at international academies and festivals, also cooperating worldwide as a juror at competitions. 

Christine is president of the International Johann Matthias Sperger Society for Double Bass and artistic director of the International Rhodius Academy for Double Bass at Schloss Namedy.

She plays an English instrument dating from 1848 made by William Tarr.
