Paulo Calligopoulos began his studies of the violin when he was 22. That same year, he became a member of Santo André Symphony Orchestra and would be the soloist just 3 years later, playing the Sibelius concerto.

Before playing the violin, Paulo was also a virtuoso in piano, guitar and harmonica. In 2011, he won the YouTube Symphony Orchestra audition and was the soloist playing electric guitar under the baton of Michael Tilson Thomas. Paulo went on to obtain his Bachelor degree in piano performance and then went to Vienna to get his Master of Arts degree in violin performance at the Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien. In the later years, Paulo became one of the few Dounis specialists, teaching his method to musicians in Brazil and abroad. Paulo plays first violin at the São Paulo opera and is a teacher at the State Music School in São Paulo.
