Konstantinos Sifakis is a Greek double bassist and composer, currently based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Fascinated by the double bass solo concept, he is trying to find his ways of expression on the instrument by creating and performing his own compositions. In 2019 he won the Audience Prize at the Prix d’ Harmonie competition in Rotterdam, performing his composition ‘Kyklos’ in the finals.

He is an active chamber music player, taking part in several chamber music festivals such as the Chamber Music Festival at Minoa Palace and ZOOM! Chamber Music Festival. As an orchestral musician, he has taken part in productions, among others, of the Dutch National Opera (with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra), the Festival d’Aix en Provence, the Greek National Opera and the Athens Philharmonia Orchestra (where he played as guest principal). He is a tango enthousiast and a member of the tango ensemble ‘Quinteto Irreal’.
