Born in Buenos Aires (Argentina) Jose Luis Juri develops an extensive concert activity in his own country as well as abroad.

Having studied at the “Manuel de Falla” Conservatory in Buenos Aires, he later perfected his skills at the Accademia Chigiana di Siena (Italy), under Rudolf Buchbinder and Paul Badura-Skoda. He continued his training for four years under Edith Fischer, Claudio Arrau’s favourite disciple.

Nowadays his performing activity takes place in Europe: Italy, France, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland; in Africa: Egypt, Tunisia, and in Latin America: México, Cuba, Brazil, Perú, Uruguay, Chile, Bolivia and Argentina. He performs in Chamber Music recitals, and he appears as soloist with well-known orchestras.

Some of his outstanding public appearances included his participation at the Cervantino Festival (México), Fine Arts Theater (México), Gran Teatro de La
Habana (Cuba), Octubre Musical de Carthage (Tunisia), El Cairo Opera and Alexandria Opera (Egypt), Blonay Festival (Switzerland), Swiss Romand Radio
(Switzertland), International Piano Festival (Italy), Festivo de Chiavari (Italy), Festival di Savona, Napoli, Ridotto del Teatro Alla Scala di Milano (Italy), Latin American Memorial (San Pablo, Brazil), Palace of the Arts (Belo Horizonte, Brazil), Solís Theater (Montevideo, Uruguay). In Argentina he performed at the Semana Musical Llao-Llao (Bariloche) and at the Colón Theater, Buenos Aires, Argentino Theater, La Plata, Mozarteum Argentino, as well as in the most important halls, with the best orchestras of the country.

In 2006, Maestro Juri was decorated as Cavalieri de la República Italiana, as token of his quest to spread Italian music all over the world.

He recorded for the Italian recording company “New Day”, and the Argentinian “Tradition” which released two CDs featuring “Rioplatense” Romantic music played on original fortepianos.

Apart from his world-wide appearances as a concert pianist, JL Juri develops an intense pedagogical activity. He holds a professorship in Graduate Piano Studies, and another one in Chamber Music at the City of Buenos Aires “Astor Piazzolla” Conservatory, and at the University of the Arts (UNA) respectively.

In his capacity as Cultural Manager, he is Director of traditional Argentinian musical and cultural events such as: “El Camino del Santo” classical music in San Isidro, “Clásica Jóven” at the CCK (which won an award by the Argentinian Critics Association), and EPI (International Piano Encounters) held at the Camping musical, Bariloche.
