Born in the icy Irkutsk in eastern Siberia, Irina Shishkin belongs to a family with a long musical tradition. He began studying piano at age 7 years and eleven entered for competition in the Central Musical School in Moscow where he stayed until age 14 under the tutelage of the prominent piano teacher Tamara Kolossos disciple Emil Gilels and Yakov Zak.
Later he entered the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with teachers and Tatiana Nikolaeva Oleg Ivanov, concluding his studies at the Conservatory with the title of "Soloist, Chamber Music Teacher with a Master of Fine Arts." Winning the contest is "Shchedrin (Moscow 1985), has been presented in the most prestigious concert halls of his native country and the Board" Bolshoi in Moscow, among many others.
He currently resides in Mexico City where she teaches piano and chamber music at the Escuela Superior de Música del Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes. In 2016 she presented her integral compositions work in three books, the first two named as "Cristales de Recuerdos” (Crystals of Memories) and the third "El Piano, la Magia y Tú” (The Piano, The Magic and You), music work especially for children because those were compositions from her childhood. In the same year Irina released a CD with some works of "Cristales de Recuerdos" under the label "Arco y Lira", with the support of the "Mexican National Record Library".
Irina Shishkina is a permanent jury of the international music competition “Empire of Russian Music” at San Remo, Italy. Some Irina’s students are winners or finalist of various piano international competitions.
