Guennadi Mouzyka is soloist, chamber and orchestra musician as well as highly regarded teacher and mentor with many years experience as
Principal Double-bassist at Singapore Symphony Orchestra and an Artist Faculty in Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music in Singapore.
He is established recitalist with solo repertoire works ranging from Baroque to contemporary music, passionate about performing to captivate the audience with the music and allow them to enjoy the experience.
The Straits Times critics observed the qualities that set Guennadi apart, writing: (...) If one had to single out the most exceptional players, it would be Guennadi Mouzyka, who set the third movement's funeral march off with the most endearing tone I have ever heard from a double bass (...)" and Double bassist Guennadi Mouzyka, the Principal from SSO, gave his ungainly instrument the sweetest of voices (...).
He has premièred in Singapore compositions "Natural" by Tan Chan Boon and "Inner Voice" by Anne LeBaron. It was "Natural" for Double
Bass solo, Op.47 that was dedicated by the composer to Guennadi Mouzyka. He also represented Singapore in World- Wide premiere of "Anna's Promise" by Andres Martin: the 50 minute score for orchestra, solo bass, narrator and background visuals. "Anna's Promise" was premiered in 33 countries by leading Double bass players in Winter 2016/Spring 2017.
As a chamber musician Guennadi has performed with Yo-Yo Ma Silk Road Ensemble, T'ang Quartet and collaborated with Shlomo Mintz, Alina Ibragimova, Jeff Bradetich, and Nobuko Imai.
Guennadi resides in Singapore, regularly conducts double bass master- classes and his past students hold active positions in the profession, performing and teaching throughout the world.
